Three levels of cover
- Régime commun: the base cover, which notably includes 24/7 worldwide assistance, repatriation and trip cancellation, as well as benefits for routine care, prevention and hospitalisation in Luxembourg and abroad.
- PrestaPlus: adds a contribution to first-class room costs in hospital, ambulance included, as well as osteopathy, chiropractic, orthopaedic insoles and various preventive medicine benefits.
- Denta & OptiPlus: strengthens dental care (orthodontics, prostheses) and eyesight (glasses, lenses, refractive surgery), on top of the Régime commun and PrestaPlus. As recorded in August 2026, this level provides up to €3,500 a year for dental prostheses, a €2,000 lump sum for adult orthodontics and €1,000 per eye for laser surgery.
Since 1 July 2026, CMCM also reimburses up to €400 of the Odyssée programme, a 24-week health course offered with Mondorf Domaine Thermal. Only CMCM’s statutes are authoritative on the details of benefits.
What membership costs
The contribution is set per membership and varies with age; a co-insured spouse and children do not increase it, and optional covers apply to all attached members at no extra cost per person. Order of magnitude recorded in August 2026 on CMCM’s public simulator: €36.73 a month for the Régime commun with PrestaPlus, age bracket 30-39.
Membership also requires joining one of CMCM’s member mutual societies, which pay their own benefits (birth, marriage or death allowances); their annual fee, where published, ranges from €6.50 to €22.
Joining and getting reimbursed
- Waiting period: three months on first affiliation to a cover.
- Adding an option: at any time, online, through the myCMCM app, at the Luxembourg-Gare offices or at the CMCM on Tour mobile office.
- Reimbursements: invoices are sent through the myCMCM app or by post; CMCM publishes its processing times per department every week on its support page.
- Complaints: the Quality & Health Pathway department collects complaints and feedback after treatment.
Financial standing and governance
At its general meeting on 29 June 2026, CMCM unanimously approved its 2025 accounts, closed with a surplus. CMCM commits to reinvesting its surpluses in new benefits and in improving existing ones.
CMCM or a private insurer?
With no medical questionnaire and no pricing per family member, CMCM suits families and people with a medical history well. Private insurers such as DKV, Foyer or AXA apply a medical questionnaire, but offer higher ceilings on some items, for example first class with the head physician or €3,000 of laser surgery at DKV. Our health insurance comparison puts the offers side by side, and our article on CNS reimbursements details the out-of-pocket costs.
